My experience

I am an Organisational Development Psychologist, specialising in psychological health, stress managment and people’s wellbeing at work. Coming from a military and Public Service background, as well as private experience working in IT and Engineering firms, I am an evidence-based practitioner who focuses on strong team-based leadership principles. I come from the standpoint that leadership is a team sport, and that the pursuit of better business outcomes and human growth and developent are one and the same thing. I offer team coaching expertise to support leaders and their teams to achieve better outcomes together.

I spend a significant amount of time at work; in fact, for many of us who work full time, we spend more days at work than we do with our families. So I ask the question: How do we thrive at work?

My research focus is stress – eustress – the good stress. Stress is the natural wear and tear of a system. From the cradle to the grave, our human response systems are in a constant state of stress. It’s not all bad; for the most part, there is plenty of good if we stress wisely. I explore how we can stress wisely, foster eustress and thrive at work. The aim is to support people to live a more meaningful and productive life and realise the potential that exists in every human being.

I have devoted my life to designing, developing and deploying systems and processes that help shape a environment which fosters eustress and thriving at work.

People feeling good and doing well at work pays huge dividends. Not only because people give more and get better, add value and feel valued, but also because positive psychological and social capital adds tremendous value to the world at large.

I believe leadership is about people in a relationship and connected to a worthy endeavour (WE) which engages their strengths, effort and interest to continuously improve, develop and achieve inspirational outcomes.
