I started my HR career while working in the airline industry with Air New Zealand Engineering before spending five years further developing a broad range of experience at Christchurch City Council. The Local Government environment was a further complex organisation and provided valuable insights into understanding our city better. I then had a series of career advancements in senior leadership roles across the manufacturing, construction and aviation sectors providing me with challenging growth opportunities across a diverse range of commercial ventures. More recently I was given the opportunity to establish the Christchurch Consultancy office for Strategic Pay. For three and a half years I successfully partnered with a broad range of clients providing remuneration expertise and guidance, working with Boards, Senior Executives and People Managers to implement effective remuneration systems.
Over the years my generalist HR experience has seen me manage cultural change, organisational change, process reviews, recruitment at all levels, business contract negotiations, remuneration frameworks, E-Rem tool implementation and remuneration reviews. I have also managed many performance and disciplinary issues through to successful outcomes.
My approach is pragmatic and demonstrated in my track record of delivering successful conclusions in a timely manner. I have expertise in contract and legislative interpretation, and I have deep experience in preparing and representing companies at mediation and negotiating Collective Employment Agreements enjoying good working relationships with Unions.
I am also very well networked within the HR industry and respected as a senior practitioner among this group having mentored numerous young professionals over the last fifteen years.
