What are you looking for?
Are you searching for a safe and peaceful land, where you can give your family the future they want while you enjoy a more balanced lifestyle? Somewhere beautiful and more relaxed, where clean air and clear skies encourage healthier living? A country where people look out for one another and public services like subsidised healthcare is available?
No matter what you’re looking for or where you are coming from New Zealand has a great deal to offer and there’s never been a better time to look at emigrating.
Here are just some of the great things about living and working in New Zealand.
Balanced Lifestyle – Kiwi’s have a fantastic work life balance. New Zealanders are innovative and ambitious but great importance is placed on finding a healthy balance between work and play. It’s about balancing a good day’s work with time for family and friends plus all the recreation and wide open spaces our country offers. For the record, New Zealand was rated sixth in the world for work-life balance in HSBC’s 2017 Expat Explorer survey.
Safe & Family Friendly – New Zealand is an idyllic place to raise a family. Access to the great outdoors is pretty much a given wherever you are, making a healthy, active lifestyle achievable for your family. There are a range of housing options to suit individual requirements and budgets. New Zealand has an excellent education system and healthcare is affordable and accessible. Of course there is crime, but the 2019 Global Peace Index comparing around 160 countries for the risk of personal violence rated us the world’s second safest country, after Iceland. USA came in 128th. We count ourselves very lucky.
Natural Beauty – Both Island’s of New Zealand boast incredible scenery including glaciers, fiordland, mountain landscapes, rolling hills, subtropical forests, and miles of uninterrupted coastline. Much of these landscapes are protected by National Parks with walking and cycling trails providing public access.
Wellbeing & Politics – Kiwis are an easy-going and welcoming people with a generally upbeat outlook on life. For example, a recent poll across the EU found only 28% of people there believe their countries are ‘on the right track’. In New Zealand, optimism about the future is roughly twice that, and has been for at least 20 years. New Zealand enjoys a long tradition of relatively calm and polite political debate. It helps that we’re a long way from the political turbulence affecting so many other parts of the world.
